The Lost Language of Lament

A two-week seminar series looking at ‘The Lost Language of Lament’. Lament is God’s gift to teach us how to express our sadness but not despair; to grieve but not lose hope. One author describes lament as ‘“a prayer of pain that leads to trust”. As we turn to the 65 Psalms of Lament, we experience a wondrous intersection of raw honesty to God, authentic cries of pain and sadness but also a dependancy on God’s sovereignty for rescue and a reliance on God’s promises for comfort. More than ever we need to hear this to reorientate our souls to the God who is for us and loves us.
